According to a report in Variety, top operating executives at the four major record labels are in talks seeking changes in the structure and priorities of the RIAA. p2pnet.net theorizes that these talks were precipitated by EMI's announcement several months ago that it was going to reduce its funding. Variety's source said "“This is not about cost-cutting. Functions and structure need to make sense...."

Nice to know that, to one record company at least, spending millions to sue your customers while supporting a lavish RIAA lifestyle, doesn't make sense.
