French Parliament rejects RIAA/MPAA's '3 strikes law'- p2pnet.net

According to this report in p2pnet.net the French Parliament has refused to go along with the "3 strikes" law the RIAA/MPAA counterparts have been trying to get enacted.

I believe that Ars Technia reported that not only was it a very sparsly attended legislative session but the major reason for the defeat was an amendment which would have forced the user to continue to pay after the service is suspended.

I expect that this will come to another vote shortly and the government will force it through
